What makes Ryan's instruction different?
Most instructors teach the same thing over and over...if you've been to one of their level one classes, you've seen them all! But Ryan has developed an innovative and rewarding system for himself AND his regular students. Since December of 2007 he has been implementing his new system and this is how it works....
Too many times we hear..."Oh, I've already taken that!" But too many times these folks have quit working toward great dancing and accepted just knowing the footwork. Ryan realizes that when his students are dancing at a venue they represent him as much as they do themselves and for that reason he desires you to be the best that you can be! His lessons will strive to build on not only your styling, but on your entire dance repertoire, so that when you are on the dance floor you will shine!
As an example of how this works... In Beginner Level Cha Cha he has developed a lesson plan of more than a twenty classes, ALL of them different from the others...each one containing at least one completely new move gathered from his years of instruction in Washington, North Carolina, Utah, Oregon, Minnesota, Mexico, and with Canadian and U.S. Professional Champions. He continues to study to bring great new material to his classes. This makes every class exciting for every student whether this is your first class or even if you have been dancing with Ryan for three years!
Classes will run on three week schedules in most cases so that new members are never coming in so far into a class that it sets back the entire session trying to catch them up but the class has spent ample time to be comfortable with the dance style. This will allow for greater progression for students and much less frustration for everyone. (If you miss week one, you can make arrangements to meet early on week two to catch up at no extra charge-- but attendees who miss class one will still pay for the class one training because class two will continue building on it---so in essence you are getting the training of both weeks either way. )
So from this day onward no one can say, "I already took that class!" because up to now he hasn't taught THIS class and it will take several years to get through all of these lessons. That means that EVERY time that you see Cha Cha on the schedule ( or any other style for that matter) it will be guaranteed that at least one move within that class will be brand new. It would take four months of weekly cha cha alone and since his class styles will vary every three weeks and he won't run cha cha for four months straight, it will be some time before he comes back around to class number one again, but when he does, it will be new and fresh to folks once again. The classes will always be challenging and rewarding.
Remember when you finally reach the point of not needing to concentrate on your feet, there are many other points to work on which improve your styling. Head, hand, hip, knees, foot placement, arms, shoulders, and even rib cage control all come with time and improvement in these areas will bring out the best dancer in you!
Okay! You've found the best instructor with the most to give, now KEEP ON DANCING!!!
